From the Streets to the Pulpit by Brian W. Jackson

Picture
Brian W. Jackson is a native of Baltimore, MD and an adult survivor of child abuse. In this book, readers will discover the tremendous pain he suffered as a victim of various forms of child abuse, homelessness, and addiction when he was a child and young adult. The pivotal event of his life happened when he was in his mid-twenties. At the time the bottom had fallen out and he was homeless. He lacked the means to provide his essential needs, and a network of preachers, missionaries, churches, and other institutions throughout Baltimore took care of him. Had it not been for their unselfish generosity, Brian W. Jackson strongly believes he would have died when he was homeless. The acts of charity of this network of people and institutions not only served to preserve his life, but those who embraced and nurtured him at his time of need modeled the type of lifestyle Brian has aspired for since he encountered them.

Since then, Brian W. Jackson’s life has been transformed. He considers his life struggles as foundational to his vocation, and has striven to help others who are struggling much as he had during the early years of his life.

This book is a testament of his journey, his trials and tribulations and victories. Through his experiences, readers will realize that believing in the power of God truly redeems anyone from his or her anguish.
