Our Pastor![]() The Rev. Dr. Brian W. Jackson became the pastor of Randall Memorial United Methodist Church in Northeast Washington D.C., in July 2010. This is his fourth pastoral appointment in the Baltimore-Washington Conference.
A native of Baltimore, Md., he experienced various forms of abuse, addiction and homelessness as a child and young adult. He is an adult survivor of child abuse. The pivotal point in his life came in 1980 when he was a homeless veteran, staying at men’s mission centers in Baltimore. At that time he gave his life to Jesus Christ while worshipping at the Baltimore Rescue Mission; and he has been running for Jesus ever since. Driven by zeal to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the world, Rev. Jackson has preached in sanctuaries, on street corners, in prisons, and in the homeless missions where he once stayed. He also has led and candidly told his compelling story at workshops and conferences to edify attendees with a message of hope, truth, courage and transformation. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Coppin University in Baltimore, a Master of Divinity degree with a focus in Urban Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C., and a Doctorate in Ministry, also from Wesley. Rev. Jackson has served as pastor of the Mt. Gregory/St. Luke United Methodist Charge in Howard County, Md., Coordinator of the Baltimore City Holy Boldness Regional Center, and pastor of Saint Mark’s United Methodist Church in Baltimore City and Zion United Methodist Church in Lexington Park, Md. In 2009 he published his first book, From the Streets to the Pulpit, an autobiography in which he shares his poignant and powerful life story. The book is a testament of his journey, through trials, tribulation and triumph. Rev. Jackson’s personal mission is “To go wherever to reach and redeem the lost for Jesus at any cost.” |
